Almost lost in the commotion of The Walt Disney Company preparing three other attractions for the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair, “it’s a small world” was brought forth by Pepsico and UNICEF in the form of a loose idea for an attraction focusing on the children of the world. Made on a tight timeline of 9 months, "it's a small world" opened on April 22, 1964, with much success!
While much more could be said about the history of TWDC and IASW, as well as the differences between each iteration of the attraction, I will solely be focusing on the history of the facades. While the current iteration is pretty standard across most of the parks, there have been many color changes and deviations from the original design.
March 29, 2024: Doing some behind-the-scenes organizing. Some pages now have images, but there is still place holder text everywhere. Any photos I have taken in the parks myself will have a watermark, while everything else will remain watermark-less, so long as the source is from Disney in some way. If I source another fan-site/archive/etc. that isn't Disney, I will include relevant watermarks and info... The next main page I want to get launched is a "Credits" page, which will function like a Works Cited section
March 26, 2024: Site launched! Pages made! Everything is still a mess at this point but this passion project has officially started! :-) I won't be keeping super detailed site update logs, but I'll make sure to note any major changes here. This might move around later. I'm still getting the hang of HTML and CSS again, lol
I'll add more info later... Still trying to figure out the best way to format my website and information ;-)
Unsure what I will put down here, if anything....
